Livermore, CA – Saint Martin’s women’s golf posted its first ever tournament victory as they won the 1st Annual NDNU Invitational winning by 25 strokes with four finishing in the top ten.

The Saints shot two outstanding rounds with a 320 on day one and 324 on day two. SMU entered the final round one stroke behind Cal State Monterey Bay overcame the deficit after Stacie Henden and Lauren Roberts shot 78 apiece.

Henden finished the tournament in second place overall after shooting 79 in the first round for a total 157. Babe Prante posted a two day total of 160 to put her in fourth place.

Lauren Roberts was tied for fifth shooting 162 while Amy Dalzell posted a 165 to put her in seventh. Alexi Coltom wrapped up play tied for 15th shooting a two round total of 177.

“The girls put themselves in position to win on the first day. Then they played good enough on day two to come back and actually beat Monterey by a fairly wide margin,” said head coach Bob Grisham. “They played very good golf on a tough course.”

CSUMB’s Cicilia Chudivan took home the individual title with the low round each day. Chudivan shot a first round 75 followed by a 77 in the second round to finish at 152. The Otters took second as a team with a combined 669.

The Saints gear up for their next tournament which sends them to Chico, CA for the Chico State/Interwest Invitational in April.
