Men’s Soccer: Maxwell and Voin named All-Conference
November 5, 2007
Spokane, WA – Saint Martin’s Tucker Maxwell and Vlad
Voin were named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer
All-Star Team as second team selections.
“I am absolutely delighted that Tucker and Vlad have
been named to the all-GNAC team in our first year,” said head coach Rob
Walker.
Maxwell is a junior from Eagle, ID and was NWAACC
West Region MVP last season at Highline Community College.
“Tucker played out of position for the season as
he’s a natural left footer and my original vision was to have him play
left back. However, his work at center back was strong all season long,”
said Walker. “Tucker is also our Captain and has done a great job
leading by example and has set a great tone for our youngsters to
follow; his leadership on the field and in the classroom is first rate.”
Voin, a freshman from Everett, WA, had one goal and
three assists for the Saints this year.
“Vlad had some great moments in the year and we are
fortunate to have a player that possesses an ability to play on the ball
and take great joy in working hard on offense and in defending,” said
Walker. “A theme of ours all year long was ‘boys to men’. Vlad’s growth
this year and where we project him to be as he matures in the college
game will be a story we will celebrate for sure. He has designs of
getting into medicine, so his off season will be spent excelling on his
coursework and getting stronger in the weight room.”
