Men’s Golf: Saints wrap up play at Super Regionals
May 8, 2008
Petaluma, CA – Saint Martin’s Hiro Nezu and John
Eisentrout finished play at the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Super
Regionals at the Adobe Creek Golf Club placing 25th and 33rd
respectively.
“I’m really proud of the way Hiro and John finished
their year,” said interim head coach Chris Gregor. “They got a chance to
play in the Super Regional and they played well; I think it was a great
experience.”
Nezu, the GNAC championship medalist, finished the
three-day three-round tournament tied for 25th with a total 225, nine
over par.
“It was bittersweet for Hiro, with it being his last
tournament and last rounds of golf as a college player,” said Gregor.
“He’s done a lot for this program and has handled being the lone senior
and team captain in this difficult year really well, so I want to
commend him and thank him for that.”
Eisentrout posted a total 229 to finish tournament
play tied for 33rd.
“Hopefully this gives John some great experience to
use next year, and hopefully we can get a whole team there next year,”
said Gregor.
