Baseball: Dominiak resigns as head coach
May 23,
2008
Lacey, WA – Joe Dominiak has announced his
resignation as the head coach of the Saint Martin’s University baseball
team.
“This was a hard decision but what it boiled down to
is I want to be a dad, I want to be home for my girls. I will miss the
boys and the friendships of the coaches in the conference; I respect
each and every one of them,” said Dominiak. “As I close the door here
maybe another door will open up down the road. I want to thank Saint
Martin’s for the opportunity to coach here. It has been fun and I’ve
enjoyed it tremendously.”
Dominiak spent 10 years at the helm of the SMU
baseball team and posted a 182-276 record.
“I understand and respect Joe’s desire to spend more
time with his family. The University and athletic department appreciate
Joe’s efforts and hard work for the past ten years and wish him the best
with his future,” said Athletic Director Bob Grisham.
Saint Martin’s will begin an immediate search to
fill the position.
