Baseball: Five Saints named to academic team

Spokane, WA – A total of five Saint Martin’s
student-athletes have been selected to the 2008 Great Northwest Athletic
Conference Baseball Academic all-conference team.
Three players were repeat selections from last
year’s team. Nick Bolthouse, a senior business major with a 3.62 grade
point average, was selected for the third year in a row.
Tanner Gronowski and Shane Schoeneberg were selected
for the second time. Gronowski is a senior biology major and carries a
3.68. Schoeneberg holds a 3.32 GPA as a senior majoring in criminal
justice.
Also making it to the team are Mickey Letofsky and
Kevin Jones. Letofsky, a senior computer science major, posts a 3.61 GPA
while Jones, who is majoring in business administration, has a 3.34.
“I am very proud of these young men both on and off
the field, especially on the academic side of things,” said head coach
Joe Dominiak. “I know how hard it is for these student-athletes to do
both school and athletics and I give them my utmost respect.”
All letter winners who are in at least their second
year of competition at their university and have a minimum cumulative
grade point average of 3.20 are eligible to be selected to the team.
