Education: Master's in divinity, Mount Angel Graduate School of Theology; Master's in Education, University of Portland; B.A., Saint Martin's College. Graduate studies in English and American Literature at Marquette University; studies in counseling at Creighton University, and journalism at Seattle University. Professional Background: Member of the board of trustees since 1990; various positions in the college including teaching over the years; former pastor of Sacred Heart, Lacey; Abbot/Chancellor of Saint Martin's since 1993. Passion in Life: Priestly ministry and monastic life; welfare of Saint Martin's Abbey and University; my family. Hobbies: Birding, "chuck-wagon" cooking, playing around with a camera, long walks, reading, a lively conversation with friends (while enjoying a glass of good wine.) Why Saint Martin's?: In 1957, I initially came to try the monastic life out. I was attracted by the monks who displayed real peace and joy in their life. Favorite Saint Martin's Program or Personality: I dare not select just one person! I tend to like all the people who work at and are a part of Saint Martin's. Favorite program? If I could somehow begin studies again I would major in Psychology and enter the MAC program because it is a wonderful background for understanding and helping people.
