The Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is the foundation on which all gift giving is built.
Your annual gift will have an immediate impact through student scholarships,
service/learning opportunities, and other high quality, student-oriented
programs. Without your annual support many students would not be able
to attend Saint Martin's. Most commonly, gifts of cash and stock are
directed toward this fund.
Cash Gifts
Gifts
of
cash through a check, credit card, electronic funds transfer (EFT) or bank
draft can be made as a one-time donation or set up to be given on a regular
basis with little or no hassle for the donor. Perhaps the easiest is a
monthly EFT or a credit card charge.
Stock gifts
If you own appreciated stock, this form of giving makes more sense than
giving cash! If you make a gift of stock to Saint Martin's University,
you can deduct the full appreciated value of the stock on the date given
(consult your tax advisor for certain restrictions), avoid capital gain tax,
and the University owes no taxes upon selling the stock. If you wish
to remain invested in a certain company but also wish to make a gift, it
often makes sense to give the appreciated shares then replace those shares
by buying them at the new market rate. You will have made a
substantial gift, have saved capital gain tax, and still
own the stock that you desire!

Annual named scholarship funds
With an annual gift of $1,000 or more you can create a scholarship honoring
your favorite faculty member, coach, mentor, your family or a loved one.
Funds are disbursed annually according to the criteria you establish. To
create a scholarship, please use the
Scholarship Agreement Form.
Senior gift
As their class gift, their legacy gift, the senior class of 2009 has chosen
to raise funds to benefit student scholarships.
