Application Procedure Saint Martin's University practices rolling admissions, meaning you can apply at any time of year and admission decision are usually made within two weeks of receiving your complete application. Freshman should apply any time in their senior year, beginning September 1. Our priority deadline for Admissions and financial aid funding, is March 1. Application Timeline September 1 - Applications for Admission accepted. March 1 - Priority Application Deadline: applicants who complete their application by this date receive first consideration for admission, scholarships and other types of financial aid. Applicants should also submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by this deadline. May 1 - Priority Enrollment Deposit Deadline: admitted student should submit their tuition and housing deposits by this date to guarantee their space in the class and residence hall. August 15 - Last date to complete an application for the fall term. To apply, follow the steps below. 1. Submit a completed Saint Martin's University application for admission:
2. Request a sealed, official high school transcript, and include it with your application. 3. Have official transcripts of any completed college level work sent to the Office of Admissions. 4. Have official test scores from either the College Board's SAT test or the ACT test sent to the Office of Admissions. 5. Submit a personal essay. 6. Submit $35 Application Fee Admissions Requirements It is strongly recommended that high school applicants complete an academic program that follows this pattern: English – 4 years At least three years of study should be from college preparatory composition and English literature. (One year may be satisfied by courses in drama, public speaking, debate or journalism.) Mathematics – 3 years College preparatory algebra and geometry. (One additional year in advanced mathematics is recommended for students majoring in the sciences, engineering or business.) Science – 3 years College preparatory science, including one year of a laboratory science. (Three years of science with two years of laboratory science are recommended for students majoring in engineering or the sciences.) Social science – 2 years History, psychology, political science, economics, sociology and cultural anthropology. Foreign language – 2 years Students completing two years of a single foreign language in high school with a B average will have met the University’s foreign language requirement. Academic electives – 3 years Academic electives and advanced study beyond the recommended course pattern. (Additional courses in English, mathematics, laboratory science and foreign language will strengthen the student’s application for admission.) Start and advanced placement Running Start students must follow freshman application procedures and meet freshman admission standards including completion of high school course requirements. Students participating in the College Entrance Examination Board's Advanced Placement Examinations will receive course credit for scores of 3, 4 or 5.
