Admissions staff
Reason why I love working at Saint Martin’s: It has a fun and energetic atmosphere. You can tell that the staff and students really enjoy being a part of this community. Favorite thing about the Lacey/Tumwater/Olympia area: Being so close to saltwater and mountains! It doesn’t take much to find a quiet, thoughtful spot in this area. Piece of advice for prospective students or applicants: Don’t be afraid to ask questions. I’m a true believer in inquiry based learning for all aspects of life! Favorite book and why: Too many to count really. I love the Harry Potter series, The Alchemist, Pope Joan, The Illuminator. . . .I could go on! Really, I love historical fiction and any book that pulls you right into the story. Favorite movie and why: I really enjoyed “The Holiday”. Can’t help it, love sappy movies! I also like ELF (for a good laugh), Deja Vu (for a twist), The Changeling (for a good scare)! Favorite vacation/travel spot: Depends on my mood. I love traveling in Ireland and being surrounded by green hills, the rugged coastline and the rich history of the area. I also love the Daintree Rainforest in Australia where you are surrounded by amazing plants and wildlife. At times it rains so hard in the Daintree that you can’t even talk to the person next to you! Favorite Quote: “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.” Dr. Seuss ~ The Lorax “Does someone need a hug?” ELF I'm inspired by: Nature Favorite song or lyrics: How am I supposed to choose just one favorite?! “Where I Go” Natalie Merchant, “Get Me Through December” Natalie MacMaster on fiddle, Alison Krauss on vocals, “Out of the Woods” Nickel Creek, “Banana Pancakes” Jack Johnson, and many more! My hidden talents: They are still hiding! Favorite restaurant in Lacey/Tumwater/Olympia: Mekong Thai in downtown Olympia Three things I would want with me if I was stranded on a desert island: Sun block, a guitar and Doolin, my beagle! A random fun fact about me: I used to take care of wolverines, bears and other species of wildlife!
