Reason I love working at Saint Martin’s: The true spirit of Benedictine hospitality. When I started working here, I was nervous since it was my first job out of college but the people, especially my coworkers, were so warm and welcoming.

Favorite thing about the Lacey/Olympia/Tumwater area: There are so many things in close proximity! Home Depot, Fred Meyer, Target, the waterfront in downtown, lakes and of course the gorgeous view of Mt. Rainier.

Piece of advice for prospective students or applicants: Proof read, proof read, proof read! Please read over your applications and essays because it’s never okay to use “u” or “cuz” instead of the proper words. Even if you think you didn’t use shortcuts, PROOF READ!

Favorite book and why: Ooooh, that’s a hard one. I like to read and I read a lot. I loved all of the Harry Potter books and I can’t wait for Book 7 (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, in case you didn’t hear). I’ve read all of Dan Brown’s novels, which are great reads.

Favorite movie and why: I’m a sucker for romantic comedy chick flicks, so anything with Julia Roberts or Sandra Bullock is fun. I also LOVE Will Ferrell/Vince Vaughn/Wilson Brothers/Ben Stiller movies. Old School, Wedding Crashers, Dodgeball, Anchorman, Zoolander, 40 Year Old Virgin. I could watch those over and over because they have such great quotable lines. Oh, I’m definitely a movie quoter.

Favorite vacation/travel spot: I do get to go to Hawaii for recruitment (thanks Todd!!)….but I also had a lot of fun in Myrtle Beach, SC when I went there for senior week.

I'm inspired by: My family. I’m the youngest of 5 children and my parents and siblings never cease to amaze me. My nieces and nephews are pretty inspiring too…they are all so smart!

Favorite song or lyrics: Rascal Flatts, “Stand.” Look up the lyrics, they are very empowering.

My hidden talents: I’m somewhat of a computer person. I am more commonly referred to as the office geek if you will.

Favorite restaurant in Lacey/Tumwater/Olympia: Farelli’s has GREAT pizza. Pellegrino’s has good Italian food for a great price!

Three things I would want with me if I was stranded on a desert island: A cell phone with solar powered energy (and service of course), a pocketknife, and an old cellar like in Pirates of the Caribbean, but with food AND drink.

A random fun fact about me: I own my very own pair of bowling shoes, which I use on a semi regular basis! :o)
