Saint Martin’s University provides full-service protection to the campus community through the Office of Campus Safety and Security which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Campus Security employs two full-time staff members and a number of Student Officers. SMU Security has primary responsibility for enforcement of University rules, regulations, and policy, applicable local, state, and federal laws, and enjoys a close working relationship with local Police and Fire Services as provided by the City of Lacey and Thurston County. Security Officers patrol the campus 24 hours a day with an emphasis placed on crime prevention and education. SMU Security encourages the prompt reporting of all crimes and suspicious circumstances.
