  • Free tutoring: tutors provide individual or small group assistance in specific subjects such as math, biology, chemistry, physics, world languages, accounting and economics. Click here to learn more about our tutoring services.
  • Academic improvement: personalized learning consultations can be arranged by appointment with Deborah DeBow, learning center director. In an individual learning consultation, you will learn how to improve the results of your study efforts. Specific areas that are commonly addressed include managing time and workload demands, getting more from reading, techniques for effective review and how to reduce anxiety before and during exams.
  • Probation recovery: students on academic probation can schedule appointments to make an academic success plan with Suzanne Reese, student success coordinator.
  • Study skills information: a variety of academic success workshops, online resources and handouts are available to build study skills and strategies.
  • Academic accommodations: the University's Office of Disability Support Services coordinates reasonable and effective accommodations for qualified students with disabilities.
  • Test proctoring: the Learning and Writing Center provides test proctoring for qualified students with disabilities. Students who need proctoring must seek prior faculty approval and sign up in advance through the LWC front desk in O'Grady Library, lower level. If you have a documented disability, please make arrangements with Geoffrey Brown, disability support services coordinator, for testing accommodations.
