Peer tutoring
Academic peer tutoring
Peer tutoring is available at no cost to Saint Martin's students in many
subjects including accounting, biology, business, chemistry, computer
science, economics, physics, math and world languages. All tutors are
recommended by faculty in their field of study. Peer tutors provide both
individual and small group tutoring sessions.
How to get tutoring help
Tutoring services are available Monday-Friday on a drop-in basis for
math, accounting, business, and science. World Language tutoring is
available "by request." Evening hours are also available for math and
physics; no appointment is needed. An updated tutoring schedule is
always posted by the LWC reception desk in the lower level, O'Grady
Library.
To meet with a peer tutor, drop in during regular tutoring hours.
Individual appointments can be arranged by either contacting the tutor
directly or the Learning Center director at
ddebow@stmartin.edu.
How to get the most out of your tutoring session
We ask that you attend all classes, keep current with course
readings, attempt assignments ahead of time, and bring all materials to
sessions. Do not expect the tutor to do your homework for you. Tutors
are here to help you improve your content knowledge and study
strategies.
