Roy
F. Heynderickx is Saint Martin’s new president. Prior to coming to Saint
Martin’s, Roy—as he prefers to be called—was the vice president for finance and
administration at the University of San Diego where he worked for slightly more
than one year.
Roy gained most of his experience in higher education at the University of
Portland where he worked for 27 years in a variety of finance and administration
positions leaving there as the vice president for financial affairs.
In his prior positions, Roy gained invaluable knowledge and insight into the
fiscal management of higher education including budgets, investment management,
human resources and facilities management.
But, Roy’s experience is not limited to the finance arena only. He obtained
his Ph.D. in education administration from the University of Oregon and his MBA
from the University of Portland. Roy has taught in the classroom as an adjunct
professor, given a variety of lectures and workshops, and has published a book
on enrollment management studying the relationship between tuition, pricing,
financial aid and enrollment.
Roy has a strong record of community and professional service which includes
serving as an evaluator for the regional accrediting commission, the Northwest
Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), with an emphasis on small
institutions.
Roy is married to Kathleen Heynderickx and they have three children: Marc,
Troy and Kathryn.
