Do something to make the world better

Serving the community is an important value at Saint Martin’s. You’ll find many great opportunities to give to others, have fun and discover more about yourself in the process. Or you can launch the service project nearest your heart and know you’ll find friends who’ll help make your dream a reality. Some recent projects include:

  • Swinging a hammer during our Habitat for Humanity day of service for Campus Ministry.
  • Performing a service activity as part of your First-year Seminar.
  • Traveling to Mexico and Appalachia with students, faculty and staff on annual trips to help needy families.
  • Raising money for the Saint Agnes Orphanage in Tanzania through the H.A.N.D.S. of Campus Ministry Club.
  • Serving dinner once a month at a local homeless shelter.

Your time and talents used to help others will make you a more well-rounded person – and change the world.

lEARNING BY GIVING

“When I came to Saint Martin’s I really became dedicated to Bread and Roses, a local food kitchen. I had to do 30 hours of service a year as part of my Benedictine service award, but I did hours and hours of volunteer work there because I really wanted to help. It was amazing, and it had a big impact on my staying at the university.”
