Residence halls – a place for friends and fun Offering not only the convenience of living near classes and campus activities, but also a strong sense of community and connectedness, on-campus living is part of experiencing Saint Martin's University. We think of our resident students as a community of friends.
Parsons Hall is scheduled to open in August of 2008, click here for more information. With the opening of Spangler Hall in 2005-2006, and the renovation of Burton Hall, students have several housing options available. Baran Hall will remain a traditional residence hall, as it is now, and will be the “home-away-from-home” for most freshman students. Burton Hall will have furnished studios and apartments for upperclassmen, while Spangler Hall will offer a choice of three styles of suite arrangements, along with furnished apartments for juniors and seniors. With a goal of building a strong sense of community, all three halls are the site for activities ranging from movie nights and billiards competitions to craft nights and other social activities. Residents can stay connected to the world through their in-room access to the campus network, e-mail and Internet services. Saint Martin’s Residence Life Program is dedicated to a safe and secure environment. We strive to make your university home a comfortable place to build relationships, develop social responsibility and achieve academic success. Although the incidence of crime on campus is low (see statistics at www.stmartin.edu/security), Saint Martin’s residence halls have been fitted with outside door alarms and more outside lighting, monitoring cameras in hall parking lots and, in two of the halls, card proximity systems. Saint Martin’s provides 24-hour security services and escorts at night, in addition to actively promoting awareness and crime prevention.
