Saint Martin’s University extension campuses serve military and civilian students

David L. Stone Education Center, Fort Lewis, WAExtension campuses at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), Centralia Community College, Tacoma Community College, and soon at Everett Community College offer a limited selection of degree programs in evening and weekend study for military and civilian students. Master degree and teacher certification/ endorsement programs are also available at JBLM and Centralia.

At JBLM, courses are offered on an accelerated, five-term academic year (semester hours) schedule. For undergraduate courses, six credits or two courses per eight week term is considered full-time for veterans benefits. For graduate courses, three credits (one course) per eight week term is considered full-time.

At Centralia College in Centralia, teacher certification courses follow the traditional fall, spring and summer schedule. Criminal justice courses in Centralia follow the accelerated, five term academic year (semester hours) schedule.

Admission is possible during any term. Most classes carry three semester hours of credit. Students attending community colleges with the intention of continuing their education at a Saint Martin's University extension campus are encouraged to contact the University's extension campus advisor at least two quarters or more before completing their Associate's degree. If students are planning to apply for and use financial aid, they need to be in contact with an extension advisor much earlier. Please note that Saint Martin's University will accept only two years (96 quarter hours or 64 semester hours) of academic credit from a two year institution. Community college graduates who have earned a direct transfer associates degree from a Washington State community college (after 1990) will be granted junior standing and meet all general education requirements with the exception of one course in religion and one course in philosophy. Junior standing will be awarded after students complete the admission process and all transcripts are received.
