Extension campuses contingency plans
This webpage provides informational points of contact for extension
campus students in the event of campus closure(s) or class
cancellations. The points of contact provided will help in the event
extension campus access is restricted or denied due to heightened
security, severe weather, or other contingencies.
In the event extension campus education centers become inaccessible,
we want to assure you that we make every effort for your classes to
continue. However, at no time should you use heightened gate security,
local weather conditions, or unofficial contingency declarations at Fort
Lewis, McChord, Olympic College, Centralia College, or Tacoma Community
College as indicators of campus closure(s) or class cancellation(s).
Official campus closure and class cancellation verification procedures
are explained below.
Fort Lewis/McChord, Olympic, Centralia and Tacoma Community
College campus closure(s):
The director of extension campuses will be notified by Fort Lewis
Army Post, McChord Air Force Base or community college campus personnel
of any changes to campus accessibility. In turn, the director will
notify the university’s main campus in Lacey.
If extension campuses remain closed for four or more
calendar days, consideration will be given to move the in-class courses
to our online
Moodle course management
system. Instructions would be located on course syllabi, in
Moodle and the Saint Martin’s
University
webpage, as well as broadcasted on
our text message alert system. If you haven’t yet signed up for our Text
Message Alert Message, please do so at:
