An update on the Engineering Initiative
If you haven’t been to campus recently, you will be amazed to see
the new engineering building being constructed next to O’Grady
Library. Anticipation is high as we see the new building, Fr. Richard
Cebula, O.S.B. Hall, nearing completion. In November the finishing
touches will be made and the grand opening will be held in February
2013.

Amount raised so far
To date, 92% has been raised toward the cost of Cebula Hall.
This includes a $600,000 finishing grant that has been approved
by MJ Murdock Charitable Trust of Vancouver, Washington. After
the remaining amount has been raised of the $7,400,000 budget
for Cebula, Murdock will issue the grant. The next phase of the
Engineering Initiative will be to raise funds for an industrial
lab to complement the new engineering building. The industrial
lab, nicknamed the “Lab in the Woods,” will have laboratories
for robotics, fluids, soils/materials and testing, fabrication,
a wind tunnel, project work space, and senior project display
space.
