Information for transfer students

No matter which community college you are attending now, the following information is meant to assist you with your academic planning.

It is strongly advised that students make contact early with faculty at Saint Martin's University to ensure that there is complete understanding as to what is required of the student. There should be frequent dialogue. Specific course selection and length of time to prepare for transfer depends upon each student's background, individual program requirements, student ability and specific course offerings each quarter.

Students transferring with associate of arts degrees meet the general education requirements of Saint Martin's University except for philosophy and religious studies unless those courses have been included in the associate of arts degree curriculum. Students must also satisfy the depth requirement of ABET in the social sciences or humanities.

There are more choices of courses that will transfer than the maximum number of transfer credits that can be accepted. The most important courses a student should take to total 96 transfer credits are the offerings in math, physics, chemistry and engineering.

Engineering students must maintain a 2.0 or higher grade point average overall and in engineering courses to graduate. Any student falling below this grade point average will be on academic probation and subject to the general rules of the University regarding academic probation.
