Career Services for Students

The Career Center provides the following services and programs to assist students:

  • Saints4Hire Employment opportunities with city, county, state, federal and private employers are posted on the Career Center database. Updated daily, these postings include part-time, full-time, summer, seasonal, permanent, and temporary positions.
     
  • Career Fair, April 1, 2008Representatives from local, state, federal and private companies and agencies participate in this annual Career Center activity. The Fair is a good source for summer jobs, part-time jobs, temporary jobs and internships, as well as permanent employment following graduation.  Stop by and pick up a program of current contacts if you missed the event.
     
  • WOIS (Washington Occupation Information System) The Career Information System is available to all students. The most widely used Career information system in Washington, WOIS provides detailed information on occupations, wages, job outlook, professional associations and links to job openings. WOIS also contains self-assessment tools, an electronic portfolio tool and extensive information on graduate programs and scholarships.
     
  • Campus Point Job and Internship Search
     
  • Resume/Cover Letter Review, bring in or email your resume and/or cover letter to the Career Center for a thorough review of content, structure and format. Your resume and cover letters are your most important marketing pieces. Resume and cover letters are typically turned around in 24 hours.
     
  • Graduate School testing information is available on GRE, GMAT, LSAT/LSDAS, and MCAT.
     
  • On-campus interviewing and recruiting This activity is scheduled to help meet the employment needs of students and employers. Announcements of interviewing and recruiting events are posted on bulletin boards, by e-mail and through faculty announcements.
     
  • Career guidance testing and software Information is available upon request. Testing is used primarily in conjunction with freshman orientation classes.
     
  • Contacts The contacts program is our email career service to all students or to individual students by class and by major. Career information, job openings, etc. are posted along with a weekly newsletter.
     
  • Internet access- Computers are available in the Career Center for Internet job searches and job information.
     
  • Career resource library- Books on jobs, resumes, career decision-making, scholarships, interviewing, cover letters, various directories and similar subjects can be checked out.
