Head coach Tim Healy
Coach
Healy begins his twelfth year as the head coach of the Saints
basketball program. In 2005 SMU made their first-ever NCAA post-season
appearance, the Saints advanced to the West Region semifinal, losing to
top-seed, host, and eventual National Runner-up, SPU. Coach Healy recorded
his 200th career win and 100th SMU win in 2005, on his way to being
selected as the 2004-05 GNAC Coach-of-the-Year.
Tim also served as an assistant coach for the Lady Saints the two seasons
prior to becoming the head coach. Prior to coming to Saint Martin's,
Tim was the head boy's basketball coach at Olympia High School. His
teams compiled a record of 100-37 in his six years at the helm, winning
four league championships and making four state tournament appearances.
His 1986-87 team finished 2nd in the state. He was voted Black Hills
League Coach of the Year in 1988 and again in 1990. Tim was also the
head golf coach at Olympia High for seven years. Coach
Healy is a 1974 graduate of Pullman High School, and holds Bachelor's
and Master's degrees from Washington State University in Communication
Disorders. He worked as a speech-language pathologist in the
public schools for thirteen years. Tim has worked basketball camps
both regionally and abroad for over 20 years, and is often invited as a
motivational speaker. Currently, Tim is the head of the Physical
Education department at Saint Martin's. He and his wife of 29
years, Cathy, live in Olympia and have two children, Ryan and Tessa.
Assistant coach Lisa Hendrickson
Coach
Hendrickson begins her second year as an assistant coach for the women's
basketball program. She played for the Saints and graduated from SMU in
2003 earning a degree in Education.
Hendrickson, a native of Reardan, WA, graduated from Reardan High School
in 1996. She then played one year at Eastern Washington University
before transferring to Spokane Falls Community College. There she was a
dual sport athlete participating in both basketball and softball.
Lisa's husband Chris is a member of the Army and is currently serving in
Iraq. The couple has two kids Teyler (3 years) and Courtney (8 months).
