Women’s Soccer: Saints fall to Golden Eagles
August 23, 2007
Los Angeles, CA – Cal State L.A. got off 26 shots on
their way to defeating Saint Martin’s 5-0 in the Saints first game
Thursday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles picked up just one goal in the
first half from Erika Prado. They went on to pick up four more in the
second half, three in the final 10 minutes; two of those goals coming
from Khadijah Greenwood.
"The first game of any season is always a test, for
us tonight was a tough final exam,” said head coach Rob Walker. “The
last 3 goals we gave up are a testament to where we have to grow
individually and as a group. That gives us a good measure of what we
have to do in the next two months."
Breanna Klasen spent all 90 minutes at the goal for
the Saints and posted nine saves in the game.
“Bre was sharp in goal despite giving up 5 goals,”
added Walker. "She really showed some class with some solid saves in
both halves."
The Saints head back home to take on the University
of Hawaii Hilo Monday, August 27 in their first home game.
