Women’s Basketball: Saints power past Wolves
February 17, 2007
Lacey, WA – Saint Martin’s dominated the backboards
on their way to a 94-75 victory over Western Oregon University Saturday
night as the SMU Pavilion.
SMU out-rebounded Western Oregon 51-24 and went
24-29 from the free throw line to the Wolves 5-12.
The Wolves scored the first two points of the game
but that was the only time they would see the lead. Up by nine with 3:41
left in the first half the Saints went on an 11-3 run to take a 48-31
lead into the break.
The second half was much of the same as the Saints
maintained their solid point advantage. They went up by as much as 22
and never let the Wolves get within 15.
Kassie Ludeman led the Saints with 18 points going
7-8 from the field. Amber Harmon posted 14 points and Sade Smith added
13. SMU got 10 points from Krissy Bassett and a game high 11 rebounds
from Whitney Golob.
The Wolves got a game high 21 points from Leada
Berkey. Kori Seymour and Claire Carpenter added 15 and 12 points
respectively.
The Saints are on the road next week, playing
Central Washington and Seattle University.
