Women’s Basketball: Saints lose to Lewis-Clark State

Lacey, WA – The Saint Martin’s women’s basketball
team lost to Lewis-Clark State College, 80-70, Friday night at the SMU
Pavilion.
The Saints had a tough first half shooting just 22.6
percent from the field. LCSC scored the first seven points of the game
and never lost their lead. The Warriors went into the break up 32-24.
The Warriors continued to tack on points in the
second half and built their lead up to as much as 14. Breanne Lindquist
sank a jumper to pull within eight but there were only 11 seconds left
and the Saints couldn’t get any closer. The Warriors then hit two free
throws to go up by ten and seal the win.
The Saints were led by Jamey Gelhar with 12 points,
going 5-5 from the free throw line. Jessi Reome and Whitney Golob both
had 11 points on the night. Lewis-Clark’s Aundrea Morrison put up a game
high 26 points for the Warriors who shot 56.8 from the field.
With the loss the Saints fall to 3-4 on the season
while the Warriors climb to 8-2.
The Saints next game is Thursday, December 7 at home
versus Northwest University.
