Volleyball: Saints fall to Wildcats in three

Lacey, WA – Saint Martin’s Shealun Campisi had a
match-high 20 kills but it wasn’t enough as the Saints were defeated by
Central Washington University in Great Northwest Athletic Conference
volleyball action on Saturday night at the SMU Pavilion.
With the score tied 10-10 in game one Central took a
one point lead on a service ace by Lindsey Dollente. The Wildcats never
looked back, stopping the Saints from ever regaining the lead, and going
on to win 30-24.
The Saints fell behind early in game two. With the
score 16-20 the Wildcats went on a seven point run to take a ten point
lead. The Saints were unable to recover as Central went on to win 19-30.
Down by ten, 15-25, in game three the Saints battled
their way back scoring 13 of the next 17 points to pull within one. The
rally wasn’t enough as Central scored the game winning point on a kill
from Rachael Schurman.
Andrea Tarbet posted six kills and seven digs for
the Saints. Kristin Anderson put up ten digs while Lisa Hall added seven
digs as well as 35 set assists.
The Saints travel to Nampa, ID October 19th to take
on the Northwest Nazarene Crusaders.
