Volleyball: Redhawks take match from Saints in three

Seattle, WA (September 16) – Seattle University held
Saint Martin’s to a .035 hitting percentage to take the win Saturday
night at the Connolly Center. The Saints were defeated in three games
19-30, 14-30, and 21-30.
Saint Martin’s fell behind early in the first two
games and were never able to recover. The Saints kept it close in game
three tied 16-16 until the Redhawks went on an 8-1 run making the score
24-17. Seattle never backed down and won 30-21.
Holly Nilson led the Saints with seven kills
followed by Elise Dike who had five kills and six blocks. Lisa Hall
added 22 set assists and nine digs. Shealun Campisi led all players with
17 digs in the match.
Seattle had a 23-8 point advantage off the serve,
recording 13 aces. The Saints got eight points off Redhawk service
errors but failed to record an ace.
The Saints are back at home September 21st to host
the University of Alaska-Anchorage at 7 p.m. in the SMU Pavilion.
