Track: Saints take part in Last Chance meet

Seattle, WA (February 24) – Danika Washington set a
new school record in the shot put at 28’08 ½” to finish second at the
Great Northwest Athletic Conference Last Chance meet on Saturday at the
Dempsey Facility.
John Riak and Krinda Carlson both posted wins for
the Saints. Riak finished the mile with a time of 4:21.53. A time of
2:21.63 was good enough for first place for Carlson in the 800m.
The Saints also posted a number of PRs at the meet.
Jessie Dunnam ran the 800m in a time of 2:29.49. Amy Layton finished the
mile in 5:43.62. PRs on the men’s side included Aaron Edwards who
finished the 60m dash with a time of 7.36 and hit 21’02” in the long
jump. Bryan Gerry and Brian Daltoso ran a 7.45 and 7.84 respectively in
the 60m dash. Five runners set a new PR in the mile. Robbie Wilbur ran a
4:35.14, Josh Gatbunton 4:39.89, Niwar Nasim at 4:44.49, Steven LaLonde
4:50.94 and Tristan Beach 4:54.92.
Jessica Pendon ran a season’s best in 800m with a
time of 2:25.81. Jennifer Grover, Taylor Shipman and Katelynn Blume all
put up season’s best in the mile. Grover ran it in a time of 6:00.66,
Shipman in 6:07.55 and Blume finished in 6:38.40.
Caleb Timmer ran the men’s 800m in a time of
1:58.43. The men’s 4 x 400m relay, made up of Timmer, Gerry, Gatbunton
and Kevin Tober finished 3rd with a time of 3:44.91.
