April 2, 2006 Bellingham, WA --- John Riak (Fr., Lacey, WA) and Josh Timmer (So., Tacoma, WA) were both winners at the 25th annual Ralph Vernacchia Team Classic at Viking Field on the Western Washington University campus. Riak won the men's 5,000 in a school-record and conference-best time of 14:52.95. “John raced a perfect race, he really raced awesome,” said Saints coach Brad Hooper. Timmer won the men’s 400 hurdles in a time of 58.32, currently fourth in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. Robbie Wilbur (Jr., Spanaway, WA) placed seventh in the 10K with a personal best time of 34:10, currently ninth in the GNAC. Adam Paczkowski (Jr., Oak Harbor, WA) recorded a personal best throw in the shot put by a foot (32’6”). In addition to Riak, moving to the top of the GNAC chart on the women’s side was SMU’s Janelle Probst (So., Spokane, WA) who finished third in the women's 10K in a school-record time of 39:11.0.
