Softball: Qunell named new head coach

Lacey, WA – Saint Martin’s University has named
Tiffany Qunell the interim head coach for women’s softball. The
appointment was announced Wednesday by Saint’s Athletic Director Bob
Grisham.
Qunell is in her first year of coaching with Saint
Martin’s. She brings a solid athletic background to her new position.
She was previously the head softball coach for the College Prep School
in Oakland, California where she also served as head athletic trainer
and assistant basketball coach.
A graduate of California State University Hayward,
Qunell was a dual-sport athlete during her college career, participating
in basketball and softball. She earned NCAA Freshman-of-the-Year with a
.672 batting average and was a two time all-American.
Qunell holds her bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology,
with an emphasis in Physical Education Teaching and Exercise Physiology
and has an NASM certification. She is currently in the process of
obtaining her master’s degree in Athletic Management.
