Softball: Four Saints receive GNAC all-star honors

Lacey, WA --- Saint Martin’s University shortstop Krishanna Nass (Sr., Scappoose, OR) and centerfielder Halley Cey (So., Spokane, WA) were second-team selections on the Great Northwest Athletic Conference softball team announced today.

Nass and Cey were among four Saints selected to the team. Catcher Marlaina Irwin (Jr., Centralia, WA) and third baseman Holly Morris (Fr. Richland, WA) received honorable mention honors.

Nass, a repeat second-team selection, led the Saints with 42 hits, 21 runs scored and a .288 batting average. She was the Saints lone senior, captain and returning all-conference performer.

Cey led the team with six steals, and finished second with 29 hits and a .336 on base percentage.

Irwin finished the season fourth on the team in runs scored (17) and hits (27) and was no. 8 in the GNAC in sac bunts.

As a freshman, Morris led the Saints with six homeruns, a .421 slugging percentage and a .379 on base percentage.

Saint Martin’s finished the season at 7-38 overall and 3-21 in GNAC action.
