Men’s Soccer: Saints can’t hold off Otters

Lacey, WA – Cal State Monterey Bay shutout Saint
Martin’s 3-0 in non-conference action Monday afternoon at the Regional
Athletic Complex.
The match stayed scoreless through most of the first
half until Monterey Bay scored with 64 seconds left. Andy Breault scored
on a cross from Nate Toricelli to take the 1-0 lead into the break.
The Otters would pick up their second goal in the
52nd minute when Ben Devoll scored on another assist from Toricelli.
Their final goal came five minute later as Andrew Burkhammer sent one
into the upper right hand corner of the net.
CSUMB outshot the Saints 23-4 sending 10 at the
Saints’ goal in the first half and 13 in the second. Zac Lubin, who
spent 61 minutes in the goal for the Saints, had eight saves while T.J.
Young picked up three.
The Saints’ next game will be Sunday, October 14th
as they face Simon Fraser University at the RAC at 2pm.
