Men’s Soccer: Saints unable to fend off Eagles

La Mirada, CA – Biola University picked up a pair of
early goals and was able to hold off Saint Martin’s to pick up the 2-0
win over the Saints Friday night at Al Barbour Field.
The Eagles used goals from Ryan Parker and Humberto
Toscan to secure the win. Parker scored the first goal eight minutes
into the first half, while Toscan added another goal just before the
break on an assist by Colin Kilpatrick.
The Saints took 14 shots in the game including four
by Vlad Voin, three by Victor Kelmel, and two by Chris Laise. They were
however, out-shot by the Eagles who sent 19 shots at the Saint Martin’s
goal.
T.J. Young and Zac Lubin split time in the goal for
SMU. Lubin had seven saves in the second half.
Saint Martin’s travels back to Lacey for their first
home game of the year against Hawaii Hilo Monday, August 27.
