Men’s Golf: Prante takes medalist honors at Washington National Winter
Championships

Auburn, WA --- Saint Martin's Shane Prante (Sr.,
Olympia, WA) battled wind, rain and cold to take medalist honors at the
six-team Washington National Winter Intercollegiate Men’s Golf
Tournament at the Washington National Golf Course.
Prante shot a 1-over par 73 in the first round,
followed by a 78 in the second round and won by two strokes at 8-over
224 (73).
Chris Westrum (Sr., Kapa'au, HI) shot a 232, John
Eisentrout (Fr., Olympia, WA) a 237, Derek Siesser (Jr., Maple Valley,
WA) a 244 and Hiro Nezu (So., Shizuokoshi, Japan) a 250 to give the
Saints a team score of 935, good for a fourth place tie in the team
standings.
Playing as individuals for the Saints were Peter
Perkins (241), Jordan Burns (246) and Sean O'Mera (268).
The University of Oregon junior varsity took top
honors at 917, finishing with a tourney-best 299. Washington State
University was second among the seven participating schools at 924
(303).
The Saints next compete at the Cal State Monterey
Bay Invitational on March 20-21.
