Saints second, Prante first at Coyote Invite; SMC takes seventh at Otter Invite March 31, 2005 Shane Prante recorded rounds of 65, 69, and 73 (9-under 207) to take medalist honors while leading Saint Martin's to a second place finish at the Coyote Invitational hosted by Cal State-San Bernardino this past weekend at the Shandin Hills Golf Club in San Bernardino. The Saints took seventh out of 17 teams in the Williams Roofing Otter Invitational hosted by Cal State-Monterey Bay at the Bayonet Golf Course in Seaside the previous weekend. At San Bernardino, the Saints combined for a three-round team total of 875, 13 strokes behind tournament champions Cal State-Stanislaus (862) in a 12-team field. Kris Swanson placed fourth with a three-under total of 213 (74, 72, 67). Also scoring for the Saints were Jared Bouchey (T-59, 232), Jordan Burns (T-59, 232), and Chris Westrum (T-61, 233). At Seaside, Prante led the Saints once again, shooting a two-over total of 218 (73, 73, 72), just one stroke behind the leader to tie for second. Saints scorers included Burns (T-24, 228), Swanson (t-56, 235), Westrum (T-56, 235), and Bouchey (T-64, 236). The Saints next compete at the Grand Canyon/Thunderbird Invitational in Phoenix April 3-5.
