Closing the loop 2005
Desired Outcome:
Students who engage in community internships must be
capable of writing with sufficient proficiency to accomplish the work of
professionals in the social services field.
Data Collection:
Interviews from the independent field supervisor that queried
the writing skills of their intern.
Interpretation of the Data:
- Four of five student interns were reported to be proficient,
professional writers.
- One intern was reported to write well enough for the internship
but perhaps not well enough to be achieve proficiency as a
professional.
Changes to implement:
- Collect more data from the spring interns to discern patterns in
writing ability.
- Work with intern who revealed weakness to improve writing
proficiency.
