Leadership groups

Three leadership groups –The Board of Trustees, The President’s Council, and the Alumni Association Board - are responsible for advising the Saint Martin’s president, setting long-range goals for the University, overseeing fundraising efforts and promoting alumni relations.

Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is responsible for the overall direction of the University through policy decisions and long-term financial planning.

One of the main functions of the board is to appoint or remove the University president. Major fundraising efforts are authorized by the board, and members are actively involved in these projects. The board oversees the establishment of academic programs, as well as monitors the University’s financial status on a regular basis.

The President’s Council
The President’s Council, which began in 2004, works for the welfare of the University by building relationships and securing additional support throughout the United States and world among alumni and friends. This is accomplished by focusing on public relations and fundraising. The council also serves in an advisory capacity to the University’s president and board of trustees on fundraising projects.

The Alumni Association Board
The Alumni Association Board acts as the link between former students and their alma mater. The Board works with the Office of Alumni Relations to provide outreach programs and fundraising opportunities for alumni, as well as build the Saint Martin’s community.

The Alumni Board also raises thousands of scholarship dollars every year by operating the concessions trailer and sponsoring events such as the Capital Food and Wine Festival.
