The beloved Father Kilian Malvey, O.S.B. turned 70 this year - hard to believe. We celebrated his birthday on August 12, 2006, even though his birthday was later in the month. What a day it was! Close to 225 people came back to campus to help us celebrate a great man's special day. Hundreds more would have liked to have been there. He has impacted, and continues to influence, alumni, friends and just about everyone who comes into contact with him. At the party, we all had a chance to reminisce, visit and celebrate. Father Kilian was touched by all the great memories and by the generosity of so many people who have, so far, contributed a total of more than $27,000 to the Fr. Kilian Malvey Scholarship Endowment as 70th birthday "presents." These gifts add to the generosity of so many alumni and friends who gave, and started, the Endowment for his 65th birthday. The Endowment now stands at approximately $110,000 in market value. Plan to come back and help us celebrate his 75th birthday in five years! <Click photos for larger image>
