Transfer scholarships

Saint Martin’s University offers competitive merit and need-based financial aid packages for transfer students. Merit Scholarships are awarded based upon your transfer GPA and do not require a separate application. Need-Based aid is awarded based upon information from the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

Academic Merit Scholarships

Merit awards for transfer applicants are based upon your cumulative transfer GPA, and are awarded at three levels:

  • Chancellor’s Academic Merit Scholarship for transfer students - $8,000
  • President’s Academic Merit Scholarship for transfer students - $5,000
  • Faculty Merit Scholarship for transfer students - $4,000

Athletic Talent Award

Students participating in our NCAA Division II athletic program might be eligible for an award. Awards are determined and offered by each coach and are done in strict compliance with NCAA regulations. For details, contact the Saint Martin’s University Athletic Department at 360-438-4305.

Music and Theater Talent Awards

Students who have demonstrated interest and ability in music or theater arts are eligible for a Talent Award. Awards range from $500 to $2,000 and are renewable. For more information, contact the Music Department at 360-438-4506, or the Theater Arts Department at 360-438-4345.

Legacy Award

Did your mother, father, or one of your grandparent’s graduate from Saint Martin’s? If so, you’ll receive a $2,000 Legacy Award. Be sure to list the names of all relatives who attended Saint Martin’s on your admissions application. We’ll verify their attendance with our alumni office and include the scholarship in your financial aid award.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

A $1,000 scholarship is awarded to students with a minimum of 3.5 GPA transferring with an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science degrees, or junior standing, and who are members of Phi Theta Kappa. Proof of Phi Theta Kappa memberships is required.

Washington All-Academic Team

A $2,500 scholarship is awarded to a student who meets the requirements of the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship (above) and is named to the All-Washington Academic Team.

Trustee Scholarship

A $24,000 scholarship awarded over four semesters of enrollment ($6,000 per semester) at the University. Two outstanding transfer students entering the University's main campus with an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science degrees, or junior standing. To be considered applicants must be admitted by March 1. This scholarship requires a separate application, which will be sent to eligible accepted applicants.
