How do I file my FAFSA?
March 1 is the deadline for new students to
file their FAFSA! Those who file late may not
receive all the aid they are eligible for.
Most students file the FAFSA online. To file online:
- Go to
www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- Apply for a PIN number. Both the
student and parent(s) (for dependent
students) do this. You’ll use this PIN
to access your online FAFSA and “sign”
the document.
- Fill out your FAFSA. Sit down with
your most recent tax return (or
estimates) and plan to spend at least
half-an-hour.
- Sign your FAFSA with your PIN, and
submit. You do only one FAFSA for all
the colleges and universities to which
you are applying for need-based
financial aid; a report will be sent to
each one that you list. You’ll need a
code number for each school: Saint
Martin’s is 003794.
Paper applications are also available in high school
guidance offices, community college financial aid
offices, and many public libraries.
If you need help with your FAFSA you can call your
admissions counselor or the
Office of Financial Aid, we’d
be glad to help!
Note: If you do not intend to apply for need-based aid you
should submit a FAFSA Non-File Form to the Office of Financial
Aid, so we can disburse your merit and/or talent awards. You can
get a FAFSA Waiver Form from your
admissions counselor.
